UEFA Cracks Down on Chelsea’s Financial Moves Amid Rule Modifications

Chelsea are facing a significant challenge in complying with UEFA’s tightened financial regulations following recent rule modifications by the European body.

While the Premier League allowed the Blues to register the sale of two hotels to a sister company for £76.5 million and transfer ownership of the women’s team to the club’s parent company, UEFA has stated that such transactions will not be approved under its financial rules.

Each case will be individually investigated by UEFA’s independent panel, with the governing body making it clear that these types of financial maneuvers will not be tolerated.

According to The Times, any sanctions for breaching UEFA’s financial rules would not affect Chelsea’s participation in this season’s Conference League.

However, penalties could be enforced before the 2025/2026 season begins.
