Victor Osimhen is expected to be out of action for four to six weeks due to injury

Victor Osimhen is expected to be out of competitive football action for four to six weeks due to injury.

Osimhen is certainly out of the Super Eagles’ double-header 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualification matches against Libya in October, according to the latest reports.

Galatasaray had issued a statement on Tuesday in which the Turkish Super Lig club-side provided an update on the injury situation of the Nigerian international attacking sensation.

And on Wednesday, Football Italia wrote: “Napoli-owned Victor Osimhen is expected to be out of action for around six weeks after suffering a thigh strain while on loan at Galatasaray.”

The striker joined the Turkish team on loan in September after failing to find a club prepared to both pay his asking price and meet his salary demands.

Also, Napoli’s negotiations with two Saudi Pro League sides and Chelsea broke down, leaving him with no choice than to join Galatasaray.

He scored his first goals for Galatasaray at the weekend, bagging a brace in the 3-3 draw with Kasimpasa.

He, however, left the field at half-time with a muscular problem and the injury now appears to be more serious than initially thought.

According to the latest reports, Osimhen has a significant thigh strain in his left leg and is expected to be out of action for four to six weeks.
