Former Super Eagles striker, Brown Ideye has urged Victor Osimhen to leave Napoli and grab the massive money from oil-rich Saudi Arabia.
Osimhen is certain to leave Napoli before the summer transfer deadline day which is Friday, August 31, 2024.
The Nigerian striker presently has links with a move to any of Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Al Ahli of Saudi Arabia.
However, a lot of football lovers and followers in Nigeria have different opinions about the offer from Al Ahli which is very tempting.
Some feel the money is too much to be ignored while others believe Osimhen should not leave Europe at the age of 25.
Ideye reacting on X said if he were Osimhen, he would grab the money from Saudi without hesitation.
“If I were him (Victor Osimhen), I will go to Saudi, play for two years, then go back to Europe because he is still young, some players are doing that,” Ideye said.
“I don’t know why his agent wouldn’t allow him to take a pay cut and play in his dream club, Chelsea. I think it is more than we read online.
“Don’t miss a move that will set you and your family up for life, in football, every game you play may be your last.
“You can’t feed your family with trophies, we all play football because that’s the only way out of the hood, we want to have all the good things in life and take care of our family.
“It’s a shame they don’t rate him among the top strikers abroad, after an amazing season with his club and winning the African best player award.
“I wish him all the best because I know how he is feeling right now. Same thing happened to me at West Brom with Tony Pulis, I had no option than to sign for Olympiacos with a pay cut.”
