The groups for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 2024 have been announced in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
This event will be the first FIFA tournament hosted by the Dominican Republic, scheduled to run from October 16 to November 3, 2024.
A statement released late Saturday and gotten from the FIFA website on Sunday gave more context.
Notably, Spain claimed the 2022 tournament title, marking an extraordinary milestone as the first nation to simultaneously hold the U-17, U-20, and senior women’s championships.

Sixteen teams will vie for the trophy, aspiring to join the ranks of past champions like DPR Korea, Korea Republic, France, Japan, and Spain.
Now, each of the 16 teams is aware of their group-stage opponents and potential paths through the tournament, with the final scheduled for November 3 in the nation’s capital.
Meanwhile, host nation Dominican Republic has been placed in Group A with Ecuador, New Zealand, and Nigeria, while reigning world champions Spain are in Group B alongside the USA, Korea Republic, and Colombia.
