Glasgow Rangers coach, Philippe Clement says this is the best Cyriel Dessers he has seen in his career, lauding the Nigerian after yet another virtuoso display.
Dessers got on the scoresheet twice with his goals playing a huge part in helping Rangers to destroy Ross County 6-0 in a Scottish Premiership game at Hampden Park on Saturday.
The Super Eagles striker opened the goal spree after 18 minutes. Dessers then poached a third in the 58th minute for his fifth goal in six outings this season.
Speaking to RangersTV after the match, Clement says his team are constantly growing and praised them for their showing at Hampden Park.
“I am very glad about that with for example the two goals of Cyriel [Dessers], I think it is a big difference from six months ago the way he runs now, how he finds the spaces.”
The Belgian was full of praise for frontman, Dessers and his boss says he’s in the best form of his career. He continued: “He deserves it, he is doing a very good job.
“This is the best Cyriel that I have seen in his career until now and he is somebody who is hungry to play for his shirt and someone who is also hungry to learn to become better.
“He is not 20 years old anymore but he stays hungry to learn all the details and you see in several details he is becoming better and better by doing it and by watching the videos and to talk about it.”
Dessers was susbstitued for Danilo in the 66th minute of the great win for the Light Blues.
He has scored 27 goals and made eight assists in 60 games for Rangers.
Meanwhile, Leon Balogun picked up a neck injury and was replaced with Mohamed Diomande in the 45th minute of the match.
