Why Tinubu sacked seven ministers after one year – Aide

The Special Adviser to the President on Senate Matters, Basheer Lado, said President Bola Tinubu’s decision to remove some ministers underscores his commitment to addressing Nigeria’s pressing needs and driving economic revitalisation.

Lado, in a statement on Friday, commended Tinubu on the quality of ministers he has selected

He acknowledged the leadership of the Senate and the senators in the parliament for the prompt and thorough confirmation process in actualising Tinubu’s vision.

Lado commended the President of the Senate, Dr. Godswill Akpabio for what he described as “his uncommon professionalism” in steering the screening exercise of the seven ministerial nominees.

Tinubu recently sacked seven members of his cabinet after one year in office.

He forwarded to the National Assembly seven ministerial nominees to take over the vacant positions.

According to Lado, “The ministers were carefully chosen based on expertise, the wealth of knowledge, and extensive experience, equipping them to make impactful changes across key sectors.”

He noted that the appointment of the ministers demonstrates Tinubu’s responsiveness to Nigerians and his commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy to the citizenry.

“This selection also reflects President Tinubu’s dedication to fostering national unity, peaceful co-existence, and social harmony, building a foundation for a more vibrant and inclusive Nigeria,” Lado said.
