Tragedy befell Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, as Modupe Ayandare, a final-year student of agronomy, was discovered lifeless just outside the university campus on a fateful Monday.
Ayandare, a luminary in her academic realm, was found suspended beside the sanctuary where she worshipped, located adjacent to the state-owned institution’s grounds.
The institution’s Students Union Government’s Public Relations Officer, Olaogbebikan Noble, issued a poignant statement, expressing profound sorrow and dismay over the untimely demise of Ayandare Modupe, revered as the leader of the Agronomy Department.
“As per the account received, the departed is said to have died in the early hours, around 4 am, following the conclusion of a night vigil at her place of worship adjacent to Spotless Villa,” the statement lamented.
Law enforcement agencies have been duly notified, and a relentless pursuit for clarity into this harrowing incident has been launched. The promise of justice looms large as investigations intensify. State Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Funmilayo Odunlami, corroborated the incident, affirming that efforts are underway to unravel the circumstances leading to this profound loss.
