The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the rescue of the abducted Fouani brothers along with two other individuals.
The police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, revealed this through a text message on Tuesday.
The brothers, Abbas Fouani, Youssef Fouani, and Amtal Fouani, who were tragically seized on June 14 around 6 pm in Lagos, were freed last night in Orugbo Iddo by the courageous efforts of the Marine Police.
One of the Fouani brothers holds a prominent position as the Managing Director of Fouani Nigeria Limited, a leading electronics company and the exclusive distributor of LG, Hisense, and Maxi products across Nigeria.
An insider, speaking under the veil of anonymity due to the delicate nature of the case, disclosed that the kidnappers had reached out to the victims’ families, demanding ransom.
Despite the looming threat, the valiant rescue mission succeeded, bringing immense relief and joy to the families involved.
Hundeyin confirmed the return, stating, “Yes, five of them were rescued. Three Lebanese, the boat captain, and his assistant. They were rescued late last night in Orugbo Iddo. Our Marine Police, with the steadfast support of the Nigerian Navy, brought them safely to shore. Following that, our tactical team in the area escorted them home to Banana Island in the early hours of today.”
