South African Man Regrets Bolt Prank, Pleads for Forgiveness

A South African man, who goes by the name Grand Dilan, has used social media to appeal to Nigerians to end the Bolt ride prank.

In a viral video shared on Tuesday and seen by Saturday PUNCH, the content creator kneeled down, expressing that the situation had gotten out of control.

He mentioned that numerous businesses had been negatively impacted since the prank emerged from the rivalry between the two nations.

The prank began when some South Africans placed Bolt ride orders in Lagos, Nigeria, from their home country, only to cancel when the drivers arrived at the pick-up point. In response, some Nigerians ordered rides in Johannesburg and Cape Town from Lagos, only to cancel as well.

In a recent video, a South African man mentioned that Nigerians had gone too far with their pranks, causing many people to lose their businesses.

He mentioned, “Nigerians, I’m on my knees. I’m begging you people to stop this. You guys have skyrocketed to another level,” he said.

“You guys have damaged a lot of businesses back in South Africa. So many businesses have closed apps. This is getting out of hand. You are destroying people’s businesses. You have destroyed millions.”
