Enugu Rangers coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu, expressed his disappointment following his team’s 2-1 defeat to Remo Stars in Ikenne. Ilechukwu criticized Remo Stars for using what he described as unsportsmanlike tactics, stating that football should not be played in such a manner.
He added that when Rangers won the league, they did not resort to such methods, accusing Remo Stars of taking a negative approach to secure their win.
In response, Remo Stars coach Daniel Ogunmodede acknowledged Ilechukwu’s disappointment but pointed out that it was expected after a loss. Ogunmodede recalled his own frustration after losing to Rangers in Enugu last season, noting that he left without speaking to Ilechukwu at the time. He added that, despite Ilechukwu’s current sadness, their friendship remains strong.
