A renowned political economist, Professor Pat Utomi believes that Nigerians are all paying dearly for corruption which has become a cankerworm in the country.
It has always been said that corruption is one of the biggest problems Nigeria faces as a country.
From the top down to the bottom in Nigeria, corruption is one big problem that has simply refused to go away.
This has seen Nigeria fail to develop as a nation, leading Utomi to share a post on his X account, lamenting the ill effects of corruption.
“If one good thing can be said of this season of anomie on the streets of Nigeria, it is that we all bleed crimson and starve of food and not faith, tribe or tongue,” Utomi wrote.
“We have also learnt that the short term ‘benefits’ of bad governance go to very few and seldom reach those whose sentiments are appropriated to procure power for state capture.
“Invariably, we all pay dearly for corruption,” Utomi who is a former presidential aspirant of the Labour Party (LP) concluded.
