Nigerian Singer: Qing Madi Credits Her Mother for Discovering Her Talent

Qing Madi, a young Nigerian singer, has given credit to her mother for discovering her talent. Born Chimamanda Chukwuma in Delta State and raised in Benin City, Edo State, Qing Madi began her music career at a very young age ¹ ².In an interview, Qing Madi spoke about how her mother recognized her talent and supported her decision to pursue a career in music.

She recalled how she and her mother would practice songs for a reality show, “Nigeria’s Got Talent,” which they saw as a platform to get recognized. Unfortunately, the show was canceled, but her mother’s support never wavered.Qing Madi attended Negbenegbor International School in Benin City for her secondary education. Although she had initially wanted to study law, her music career took off in 2022, causing her to halt her education.

However, she plans to continue her education when she is 19 years old.Qing Madi’s music genres are Afrobeat, Pop, Soul, and R&B. Her 2022 single, “See Finish,” gained widespread recognition and was followed by the viral 2023 single “Ole” featuring Bnxn. She was also inducted into Apple Music’s Rising Class of 2024.
