NDLEA uncovers drugs hidden in Cerelac baby food tins

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has uncovered illicit drugs hidden inside tins of Cerelac baby food, according to Femi Babafemi, the agency’s Director of Media and Advocacy.

Babafemi shared the information in videos posted on X.com on Sunday, stating, “Not even tins of Cerelac baby food are spared in their desperation to conceal and export illicit drugs.”

Although the operation’s location and details of the suspect(s) were not disclosed, Babafemi used the opportunity to warn the public about the risks of accepting packages from others while travelling.

He stressed that unknowingly transporting illegal substances can result in a 15-year jail sentence. “This is why we warn people never to accept any package of unknown content from anyone when travelling,” Babafemi said. “Remember, possession means 15 years in jail! Seizures by #ndlea_nigeria.”
