All 24 teams set to compete at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) have now been confirmed, following the conclusion of the qualifying series on Tuesday night.
The final three countries to secure their spots in the prestigious tournament are Mozambique, Botswana, and Tanzania.
Their qualification completes the lineup of teams that will battle for continental glory in Morocco next year.Prior to Tuesday’s games, 21 nations had already sealed their qualifications through earlier matches in the qualifiers.
These teams include some of Africa’s football powerhouses such as Morocco, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Algeria, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Senegal, Egypt, and Nigeria.
Others who made it through earlier are Angola, Gabon, Uganda, South Africa, Benin Republic, Comoros, Sudan, Equatorial Guinea, Côte d’Ivoire, Zimbabwe, Mali, Zambia, and Tunisia.
The 2025 AFCON, which promises to be a thrilling football spectacle, will be hosted by Morocco.
The tournament is scheduled to run from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026, and will bring together the best football talents from across the continent to compete for the prestigious title.
