The Minister of State, Police Affairs, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim has lauded the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) over its role in peace building in Nigeria.
Sulaiman-Ibrahim made the commendation on Tuesday when the National Chairman of PCRC, Alhaji Mogaji Ibrahim Olaniyan paid her a courtesy visit at the Federal Ministry of Police Affairs.
The minister in a statement signed by described PCRC’s role in peace building, most especially during challenging periods in Nigeria as top notch.
The spokesman of the National Chairman, Kunle Sodipo in a statement said Sulaiman-Ibrahim was visibly impressed and deeply appreciated the efforts of the committee’ executives and members nationwide.
She also pledged the support of the two ministers in the Police Affairs Ministry in a further recognition of the PCRC and according her all the deserved respects.
“It is on record that PCRC under the leadership of Alhaji Mogaji Ibrahim Olaniyan have played and continue to play its role meaningfully well in Nigeria and beyond as a strong and highly durable bridge between the Police and the Community,” Sodipo said.
“As a matter of fact, today’s PCRC is a fulfillment of the dreams and aspirations of her founding father and former Inspector General of Police, Late IGP Etim Okon Inyang.”
Sodipo said the visit also afforded meaningful discussions on the ongoing preparations by the committee for the renewed hope community engagement of the Ministry of Police Affairs scheduled for August 22 and holding in the South-East Geopolitical Zone.
