Kidnappers demand 3millon ransom to release kidnapped female undergraduate in Ogun state

Suspected kidnappers of a 300-level student at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Idowu Christiana who was abducted on August 19th along the Ikorodu-Yaba Road have demanded a ransom before she can be released.

It was gathered that Christiana was on her way from her home in Itaoluwo, Ikorodu, to the University of Lagos, Yaba, where she was undergoing industrial training when she was kidnapped.

Findings show that the family, after several unsuccessful attempts to contact Christiana, was finally reached by the kidnappers using her phone.

A family source, who preferred not to be mentioned, revealed on Monday that the abductors initially demanded N3 million for Christiana’s release.

Following desperate pleas from the family, the ransom was reduced from N3 million to N1 million, then to N500,000, and finally to N350,000.

The family has reported the case to the police and is seeking assistance from the government and the public.

When contacted, the deputy police public relations officer, Folashade Oluwole said that she had not yet been informed of the incident but promised to investigate and provide updates.
