Three suspected kidnappers have been apprehended at Ihotu Park in Benue State after their victim recognised them when boarding the same bus and quickly raised the alarm.
The kidnappers, who had previously kidnapped and released the victim after receiving a ransom, were caught attempting to board a vehicle to Makurdi.
The victim, who recognised them, held one of the suspects inside the vehicle while the other two attempted to flee but were later caught by a combined team of soldiers and police.
A search of the vehicle revealed a Ghana-Must-Go bag containing eleven million naira, which was counted outside the police station.
The suspects were almost lynched by a mob but were rescued by the manager of Ihotu Park, who quickly called in soldiers and policemen to come to their rescue.
The suspects have been transferred to Makurdi, while the victim and another lady, who identified the suspects as her own kidnappers, have followed them to the state capital to ensure that justice is served.
The Benue State Police Command said an investigation was ongoing to identify more of their victims with a view to charging the suspects in court soon.
