Finidi George finally breaks silence on Osimhen’s outburst Super Eagles head coach, Finidi George, has revealed that Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has yet to offer an apology for the disrespectful outburst that circulated on social media.
The incident, which caused quite a stir, stemmed from comments that Osimhen made regarding Finidi, leading to tension between the two.
Finidi, who currently manages Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Rivers United, shared that he attempted to reach out to the striker in an effort to resolve the issue.
“I sent him a message, telling him that the way he reacted wasn’t the best.
It was just someone telling him something, and he responded as if I had said something about him in an interview,” Finidi explained during an interview on Nigeria Info FM.
Despite Finidi’s efforts to communicate, Osimhen did not respond.
The former coach admitted that he had moved on from the situation.
“From that point, I didn’t hear from him. I moved on, and I wish everyone well. Only God can judge the situation,” he added. When asked about calls for Osimhen to face disciplinary action, including a potential ban from the Super Eagles, Finidi declined to make any strong comments.
“I don’t know. He is already there, so let him be. We cannot crucify him. He made a mistake, we’ve moved on, and life goes on,” he stated.Finidi’s comments reflect a willingness to put the incident behind him and allow Osimhen to continue his career without further controversy.
However, the lack of an apology from Osimhen leaves the matter unresolved between the two football figures.
