The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has merged the ministry of tourism with the ministry of culture and creative economy while scraping the Niger Delta and sports development ministries.
The FEC, presided over by President Bola Tinubu, made the decisions at its sitting at the State House in Abuja on Wednesday, adding that the National Sports Commission (NSC) will take over the responsibility of the sports ministry.
Also according to FEC, a new ministry of regional development will be set up to oversee all the regional development commissions.
It added that the commissions will be made up of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), North West Development Commission (NWDC), South West Development Commission (SWDC), and North East Development Commission (NEDC).
