Nigerian Student Detained For Staging His Own Kidnapping

A student in Delta State, identified as Nelson Estrada, has been arrested along with his accomplice, known as Jerry Lawrence, by the Delta State Police Command for staging his own kidnapping.

According to reports, the student had allegedly conspired with his friend to fake his kidnapping, sending distress messages to his family and friends, claiming he had been abducted and demanding a ransom.

However, the police, acting on a tip-off, swiftly swung into action and apprehended the student and his accomplices.

The Delta State Police confirmed the arrest, stating that the student had confessed to the crime, citing financial difficulties as his motivation.

The police commissioner warned that the command would not tolerate such nefarious activities and urged the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities.

The student is currently facing charges of conspiracy, kidnapping, and fraud, and may face severe legal consequences if convicted.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of fake kidnapping schemes and the importance of verifying information before raising alarms.
