Eberechi Eze scored a brilliant equalizer as Crystal Palace secured a draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea, coming off a 6-2 thrashing of Wolves last week, dominated the first half. Cole Palmer narrowly missed the target, and Dean Henderson made a fantastic save to deny Noni Madueke before Nicolas Jackson opened the scoring.
Jackson finished off a swift Chelsea counterattack, converting Palmer’s cross at the near post.
Crystal Palace had a stroke of luck when Will Hughes, already on a yellow card, escaped further punishment for a foul on Palmer.
Soon after, Eze curled a magnificent shot past Robert Sanchez to level the score.Sanchez did well to deny Palace the lead, pushing away a powerful shot from Daichi Kamada.
Chelsea nearly snatched a win in stoppage time, but Henderson saved Jackson’s effort after the forward broke through on goal.
The draw was a much-needed boost for Crystal Palace, who had suffered back-to-back defeats.
Chelsea, with four points from their first three games, continue to find their footing this season.—
In other matches, Liverpool cruised to victory against Manchester United, with Mohamed Salah sealing a 3-0 lead after Luis Diaz scored twice in the first half. Manchester United’s Casemiro, responsible for errors leading to both Diaz goals, was substituted at half-time. Newcastle maintained their unbeaten start with a win over Tottenham, further solidifying their strong form this season.
