Edwin Clark, the head of the Southern and Middle Belt Leaders Forum, has called on President Bola Tinubu to promptly enforce the resolutions from the 2014 national conference.
Clark made this appeal on Thursday during a visit from a 10-member Igbo leadership delegation, led by Simon Okeke, the former chairman of the Police Service Commission, at his residence in Asokoro, Abuja.
He emphasized that Nigeria is a large and united family, urging presidents to resist the urge to make appointments based on ethnicity, warning that doing so poses a serious risk to the nation.
The senior statesman emphasized that enacting the recommendations from the conference report would promote national unity.
“If President Bola Tinubu immediately implements the 2014 National Conference Report, it will help to re-unite the Igbos, bringing them to the position they occupied before the civil war,” he said.
The elder statesman also encouraged the Igbos to unite and work collectively to fulfil their aspirations.
