However, after his first goal in this match, he pulled down his shorts slightly and danced, making a playful expression towards the crowd.
While some interpreted this as taunting Hoffenheim fans, Boniface explained after the game that the celebration was part of a promise he made to a Nigerian influencer.
“I didn’t want to provoke anyone. I did it in front of our fans.
