Bayern Munich are poised to acquire Michael Olise after the Crystal Palace winger opted to join the Bundesliga team.
Earlier this month, Bayern, Chelsea, and Newcastle all approached Palace to express their interest in the 22-year-old. The deal was anticipated to be intricate, given Olise’s release clause is approximately £60 million, with portions of any transfer fee owed to Palace, the player himself, and his former club Reading.
Chelsea reportedly had reservations about the total cost of the deal.Last summer, they had attempted, unsuccessfully, to sign the France Under-21 international for around £35 million, believing they had activated his release clause. Following this, Olise signed a new four-year contract at Selhurst Park, extending until 2027.
Olise has been selected for the France squad for the Paris Olympics, commencing in July.He netted 10 goals in 19 appearances for Palace last season, despite missing several games due to a hamstring injury.
Manchester United had previously shown interest in him but are currently concentrating on other positional targets.
