Africa Education Medal 2024: Three Nigerian educators shine in continental awards

Three Nigerian educators have been selected as finalists for the prestigious Africa Education Medal 2024, recognizing their exceptional contributions to education. Olanrewaju Oniyitan, Hakeem Subair, and Josiah Olusegun Ajiboye are among the top ten finalists from across the continent, honored for their transformative work in education.

The Africa Education Medal, founded by HP and T4 Education, is the most esteemed education award in Africa, recognizing leaders who have sparked change and inspired others to strive for quality education for all.

The three Nigerian finalists have demonstrated exceptional leadership and advocacy in education:

– Olanrewaju Oniyitan, Founder & Executive Director of SEED Care & Support Foundation, has empowered underserved communities through education and support programs.

– Hakeem Subair, CEO of 1 Million Teachers, has addressed the teacher shortage crisis in Nigeria and across Africa through innovative teacher training and empowerment programs.

– Josiah Olusegun Ajiboye, Registrar & Chief Executive of the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria, has professionalized teaching in Nigeria, strengthening teacher registration standards and enhancing the credibility of the teaching profession.

The winner of the Africa Education Medal 2024 will be announced in October and will receive an invitation to attend the World Schools Summit in Dubai, as well as the opportunity to nominate a school to receive membership in T4 Education’s Best School to Work program.
