400 Nigerians deported from UAE – NAPTIP

According to a report by the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), 400 Nigerians, including 90 women and 310 men, have been deported from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Upon arrival at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, they were received by officials from the Office of the National Security Adviser, along with the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons, the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), and other relevant stakeholders.

Earlier, a group of 103 Nigerians deported from Türkiye was also received at the same airport by NEMA and other government officials. Additionally, in November 2023, 264 Nigerian passengers arriving at King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, were informed of the cancellation of their visas.

The Nigerian government has since urged calm in response to these deportations.
