Woman Arrested in Adamawa for Torturing Toddlers

The Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended a 37-year-old woman named Fatima Abubakar in the Yola South Local Government Area for allegedly abusing two toddlers in her care.

On Monday, the state’s police spokesperson, Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed the arrest, stating that investigations indicated she mistreated the children due to their urination and defecation inside the home.

Authorities took Abubakar into custody after discovering that she had physically harmed a two-year-old girl and a young boy.

Nguroje said, “Neighbours reported that Fatima, who is childless, had a history of maltreating the children, including denying them food and warning others not to interfere in her affairs.”

The police spokesperson stated that the suspect admitted to the offenses following her arrest on Saturday.

He indicated that the Commissioner of Police, Morris Dankombo, has directed that she be taken to court.
