Nigerian Government Sets New Deadline for Completing Immigration and Fire Service Recruitments

The Nigerian Federal Government announced that the recruitment process for the Nigeria Immigration Service and the Federal Fire Service will be finalized by the end of September 2024.

Jaafaru Ahmed Secretary of the Civil Defence Correctional Fire and Immigration Services Board

Ja’afaru Ahmed, Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board, revealed this in a Sunday statement from Abuja.

He mentioned that the next phase of the recruitment will start in August.

This situation arose because the board could not finalize the recruitment process, initially set to conclude on June 15, 2024.

He explained, however, that the delay resulted from the board’s comprehensive nationwide manpower audit, which only recently concluded.

“The board will begin the next stage of the recruitment exercise in August and will conclude the exercise before the end of September.”

“It was due to a nationwide manpower audit carried out in the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Federal Fire Service (FFS) and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), which was just recently ended.
