The Federal Government (FG) is set to advance Nigeria's Green Initiative

The Federal Government (FG) has come up with plans to advance Nigeria’s Green Initiative, thereby creating more jobs.

The Federal Ministry of Environment disclosed this on Friday via a post shared on its official X account.

“Under the Minister, Balarabe Abbas Lawal, the Federal Ministry of Environment is advancing Nigeria’s Green Initiative,” the post read.

“The initiative will focus on job creation, youth employment and economic development in line with President Tinubu’s vision.”

The Ministry of Environment said in 2024, the National Clean Cooking Policy is reducing emissions, improving health and creating millions of jobs.

According to the post, this is by empowering local manufacturers and training youths in clean cookstove production.

From solar-powered streetlights to Waste-to-Energy projects, the Ministry of Environment said it is driving a low-carbon future.

It added that upcoming projects like solar plants for federal institutions will ensure that every Nigerian benefits from a greener and prosperous future.
