Two Nigerians found guilty of multiple rape charges in UK

A United Kingdom court has found two Nigerian men, Tosin Dada and Solomon Adebiyi, guilty of multiple rape charges.

A Northamptonshire Police, in a statement on Monday, revealed that Dada and Adebiyi were each charged with three counts of rape connected to a March 2022 incident.

During their trial at Northampton Crown Court, Dada and Adebiyi claimed they engaged in consensual sex with a 17-year-old girl.

But the jury rejected their claims and found them “unanimously guilty” on all charges after eight hours of deliberation in court.

The court then ordered that Dada and Adebiyi remand pending sentencing, scheduled for October 25, 2024, at the same court.

The Northamptonshire police statement read, “Tosin Dada, 34, previously of Knox Road, Wellingborough, and Solomon Adebiyi, 39, previously of Stanley Street, Northampton, were both charged with three counts of rape each in connection with the offence on March 12, 2022.

“Their nine-day trial at Northampton Crown Court ended last week with both men being found unanimously guilty by the jury on all charges after eight hours of deliberation.

“Both men were remanded into custody ahead of sentencing at Northampton Crown Court on October 25, 2024.”
