The Warri-Itakpe train service of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) on Wednesday vowed to resolve the ticket and pricing malpractice issues involving staff.
This was disclosed in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja by Sanni Abdulganiyu, Coordinator of the Warri-Itakpe Train Service.
Abdulganiyu said that the corporation understood the public’s disappointment over recent incidents of malpractice involving some of the staff.
He assured the public that an internal review was underway to address such misconduct among the staff.
According to him, providing a fair and trustworthy service was a top priority of the corporation.
“We have been actively working to prevent such issues, and in light of these reports, we are increasing our efforts,” he said.
“Anyone found responsible will be held accountable.
“We’re also stepping up monitoring and improving our ticketing process to prevent overcharging and make our services more transparent.”
He added that the NRC was setting up a hotline to help the public report any ticketing issues.
