Lagos has announced a two-day traffic diversion on Bourdillon Road

The Lagos State Government has announced there will be a traffic diversion on Bourdillon Road.

The Lagos State Ministry of Transportation made the announcement in a post it shared on its official X account on Saturday morning.

“The Lagos State Government will be diverting vehicular traffic away from Bourdillon Road, Ikoyi between 9:00am and 5:00pm on Saturday 24th August and 9:00am to 12:00 noon on Sunday 25th August, 2024 for construction work on the corridor,” the post read.

“In light of this diversion, an alternative route has been mapped out for motorists plying the corridor.”

Motorists on Bourdillon Road heading towards Falomo Roundabout are advised to turn right at Lateef Jakande Road to Onisiwo inwards Oniru Road to link Thompson Avenue Roundabout into Thompson Avenue and make a right turn into Bourdillon again to proceed with their journeys.

However, the Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi explained that motorists on the lane inbound Alexander Avenue from Falomo Roundabout will not be affected by the diversion.

Osiyemi assured that the diversion would be managed by the State’s Traffic Management Personnel, urging motorists to co-operate with the interventions put in place.

“Advisory: – Motorists are implored to be patient as this diversion is part of the Traffic Management for their safety during the construction work,” the post added.
