The violent incident, according to a security expert based in the Northern region of Nigeria, Zagazola Makama occurred at 1:30 pm on Friday, August 2, 2024.
Makama said the Fulani herdsmen, carrying cows, entered a farm belonging to a local resident in Bassam Galomari Village, Gubio II Ward, leading to a confrontation.
“The farm owner attempted to remove the herdsmen from his property, but they resisted, and one of the Fulani men attacked the farmer, cutting both his hands,” he explained in a post shared on his X account on Saturday.
“The victim was rushed to Gubio Hospital, where he was referred to the Maiduguri Hospital for further treatment.”
Makama said following the incident, the area has been deemed unsafe, with warnings issued for people to avoid Bassam Galomari Village.
According to him, the security agencies around the area have been mandated to respond to the situation with a view to resolving the crises.
