FRSC returns one million naira to relatives of accident victim

The FRSC in Abuja has returned one million naira and above to the relatives of an accident victim

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Abuja has returned the sum of one million naira and above to the relatives of an accident victim.

The FRSC Unit Commander RS7.110 Abuja Airport Unit Command, SRC Adamu Ibrahim disclosed this in a post on the Corps’ X account on Thursday night.

“The Sector Commander RS7.1 FCT, Corps Commander Chorie Mutaa presented the sum of N1,034,000 and other valuables to the mother of late Najeem Abiodun Babalola in the presence of other family members,” Ibrahim said.

“Babalola was a victim of a fatal crash that occured on Tuesday 11 June, 2024 at about 50 meters away from Iddo Sabo U-turn along the Abuja Airport junction – Giri route.

“The crash which involved a Lexus 350 salon car and two motorcycles claimed the lives of Najeem and two others.”

Ibrahim said the victims were confirmed dead at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital after a team of the FRSC Abuja Airport Unit Command who went for rescue, recovery and traffic management took them for treatment.

The Sector Commander, Mutaa has commiserated with the mother and other relatives present over the loss of Babalola and highlighted the need for motorists and pedestrians to always obey traffic rules and regulations.

He also commended the Abuja Airport Unit Commander and his team that went for the rescue operation. He thereafter presented commendation letters to the Unit Commander and the team that carried out the rescue operation.

The mother of the deceased and other family members present thanked Mutaa and his Abuja Airport Unit for their honesty, patience and service to humanity.

They recounted the professionalism exhibited by the Unit Commander Abuja Airport and his team while trying to get in touch with the family members as the deceased phone was damaged due to the accident.

They offered prayer for the Corps Marshal and all FRSC staff for the wonderful works and pledged to be advocates of road safety at any slightest opportunity.

“Other valuables in the victims ash coloured bag include:
Two POS machine, one Tecno phone, one power bank, five ATM cards, lantern and a USB,” Ibrahim added.
