The Ekiti State Government has rolled out actions towards food security.
The Ekiti State Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Emmanuel Boluwade revealed this on Monday night.
“Deliberate actions towards food security. We are rolling this support out to massively drive low land rice production during this season,” Boluwade wrote on X.
Ekiti has competitiveness in low land rice production. 70% of Ekiti rice is being produced under lowland rice environments in different areas.
Boluwade said these are areas such as Okemesi, Ido Ile, Itaore, Aramoko, Ikoro, and Ijero.
“We have other sites across the state like Ago Aduloju in Ado Ekiti,” the commissioner added.
“Markets and offtakers are already structured. We have held strategic meetings with clusters heads and members to drive the process.”
