May Edochie Stars in Nollywood Blockbuster ‘Wives on Strike 3’

Queen May Edochie, estranged wife of Nigerian actor, Yul Edochie, is making her acting debut in a Nollywood blockbuster movie” The Uprising : Wives On Strike 3″.

The Nigerian businesswoman, who took to her Instagram page @mayyuledochie to announce the trailer for her first upcoming movie, said she was so excited about the movie.

According to her, she can’t wait for her fans and lovers of movie to see the upcoming cine blockbuster, ‘Wives On Strike 3: The Uprising’ as she appreciate the director Omoni Oboli.“@omonioboli called and I answered. This is one movie I am very excited about this year. I can’t wait for you all to see it. The Uprising Is Near! The countdown has begun #TheUprising #WivesOnStrike3 it’s going to be epic!,” she said.

The movie, directed and produced by Oboli, ‘Wives On Strike 3: The Uprising’ is a sequel to ‘Wives on Strike’ and ‘The Revolution’ released in 2016 and 2017 respectively.

The director had earlier made the announcement on her Instagram page with the first trailer for the movie, which showed Edochie beating a drum in a bid to assemble people.

“It’s finally here and my heart is brimming with gratitude and excitement. Returning to the big screen with ‘The Uprising: Wives on Strike’ feels like coming home.”

This journey has been one of passion, perseverance, and unwavering dedication and I couldn’t be more proud to share it with you all,” she wrote

Omoli further appreciated the cast and crew for believing in the project and their tremendous effort in ensuring that the movie come to reality.

“To my incredible cast and crew, thank you for your tireless efforts and belief in this project. And to my fans, my besties, your love and support has been my guiding light through it all.”

The franchise tells a story about a group of market women, who denied their husbands sex and other things in a bid to convince them to rise up for an underaged girl whose father forced her into marrying a man against her will.

The follow-up, ‘The Revolution’ released in 2017, focused on the same women taking a stand against domestic violence after their friend was beaten to death by her husband.

The previously released parts of the franchise starred Omoni Oboli, Sola Sobowale, Chioma Chukwuka, Uche Jumbo, Ufuoma Mcdermott, and others.

According to Oboli’s announcement post on Instagram, ‘Wives on Strike 3: The Uprising’ will hit cinemas in the fourth quarter of 2024.
