Seun Kuti, the renowned Afrobeat musician and son of legendary Fela Kuti, recently expressed his disappointment and hurt over being excluded from Davido’s highly publicised wedding.
In an emotional interview, Seun Kuti revealed that he was not invited to Davido’s wedding, despite their cordial relationship and shared passion for music. “I was really hurt, to be honest,” Seun admitted. “I thought we were cooler than that.”
Seun Kuti highlighted his consistent support for Davido’s music and career, often publicly praising his talent and achievements. “I’ve always been there for him, celebrating his wins and offering advice when needed,” Seun said.
Seun expressed feelings, questioning why he wasn’t extended an invitation to the high-profile event. “It’s not about the wedding itself; it’s about the principle. If you’re going to exclude me, what message are you sending?”
Seun Kuti hinted at underlying industry politics and cliques, suggesting that Davido’s camp may have intentionally left him out. “There’s a lot going on in this industry that people don’t see. Sometimes, it’s not just about the music; it’s about the egos and interests.”
