The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced that it is taking proactive steps to assist passengers affected by the grounding of Arik Airline.
This announcement follows the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority’s (NCAA) directive to suspend Arik Air’s operations nationwide due to litigation issues.
The grounding order comes in the wake of a recent Abuja Court judgement that mandated the sale of Arik Air’s aircraft, hangar, and other movable assets to offset debts owed to businessman Arthur Eze and other creditors.
FAAN’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Obiageli Orah, confirmed on Tuesday that steps are being taken to mitigate the impact on passengers.
Orah stated, “The Authority has instructed all airport managers across the country to assist the affected passengers as Arik Airline works out plans to rebook and transfer passengers to other available flights.”
She added that passengers should contact Arik Airline on these lines: 0700003592745, 02012799999 for further information.
Orah also noted that the agency will continue to ensure safety, security, and comfort for all air travellers in Nigeria.
